photograph of riverIncorporated in 1927and originally comprised mainly of fishing cottages, Rocky Ripple, Ind., is a great place to live. Only 10 minutes from downtown with the feel of a small town, it is truly the country in the city.

Many houses have a view of the White River or the Indianapolis Water Company Canal, and the accompanying wildlife such as heron, wood ducks, eagles, ospreys, and beaver, to name a few. Recreational opportunities include canoeing, biking, jogging or walking on the Central Canal Towpath.

The Town of Rocky Ripple is located in Marion County, outside of the original boundaries of Indianapolis. To the east is the Indianapolis Water Company Canal, to the west is the White River, they meet at the north, and Butler University athletic fields are to the south. We have two bridges that cross the canal at 52nd and 53rd Streets. These are the only ways in or out of town, and they result in many people getting lost in Rocky Ripple.
