Schedule

The Friends of Awakening meet each Sunday. Members are invited to remove their shoes when entering the Sangha.

11 a.m.: A bell calls the community for silent sitting meditation.
11:30 a.m.: Silent walking meditation outside in Japanese garden.
11:50 a.m.: Reading precepts and mindful partaking of tea and small snack.
12 p.m.: Dharma inquiry.
1 p.m.: Closing bell.

Monthly pitch-in

First Sunday of each month: vegetarian pitch-in lunch follows closing bell. (Check out the new recipe page.)

About the Dharma inquiry

Members take turns offering a topic for inquiry. Some recent topics have included listening, labyrinth meditation, dealing with anger, social justice. To remind each other of the commitment to mindful speaking and listening, members recognize each other by bowing before and after each person shares.
